We're changing Energy Made Easy to improve your experience. We’re now inviting you to try this Beta version of Energy Made Easy and give us your feedback. We anticipate that the new and improved website will be released in early 2020.
What is a Beta website?
This Beta version of the Energy Made Easy website provides an opportunity for you to try out new features that we are developing to improve your experience. You can let us know what you like or don't like by providing your feedback.
You cannot find and compare real energy plans and prices on the Beta website. The purpose of this Beta website is really to test new concepts and identify whether the improvements we have made are going to be helpful, for all users of Energy Made Easy. If you would like to search for a new energy plan, please visit our main site at energymadeeasy.gov.au.
Why is Energy Made Easy changing?
The Australian Energy Regulator received government funding for a major redevelopment project to enhance the Energy Made Easy website by 30 June 2020.
In August 2018 we released a completely redesigned website with a range of improvements, to make the process of finding and comparing energy plans easier. We have continued to develop further improvements during this project and this Beta version of the website introduces a number of new features that we have been working on.
What are some of the new features?
The new features we are currently testing in this Beta website are:
- a revised and more helpful search experience, including suburb and postcode look up
- the option for you to upload a PDF bill to provide your usage data when you search for a new energy plan
- the inclusion of solar feed-in tariffs in price estimates if you have solar panels and provide your solar data
- a new dynamic language translation function so you can translate one page or the entire website into 33 different languages
- some enhancements to the website’s design.
We have been engaging with a broad range of external stakeholders including consumer, small business and industry representatives, as well as retailers and governments, to design and develop these features. We have considered feedback received in recent Energy Made Easy user research and feedback provided to us by users of Energy Made Easy over time. We have also made a number of changes in line with the Digital Transformation Agency's Digital Service Standard.
How can you give us feedback?
We welcome all feedback on this Beta website to help us get it right. To provide us with your feedback, please complete our short survey.
You can also provide quick feedback about any part of the Beta website that you are trying, by using the red Feedback button on the right-hand side of each page.
What will we do with your feedback?
Your feedback is valuable to us. We will use your feedback to understand if the changes we’ve made improve your experience on Energy Made Easy. We will also use it to identify any issues with the website, and to determine possible future enhancements to Energy Made Easy.
